I rarely write product reviews, but the Travelite Practice Pad truly deserves one.

As a professional drummer, I have used countless practice pads over the years, and the Travelite stands out as one of the finest I have ever played.

The build quality is exceptional. Every detail reflects careful engineering, from the premium materials to the overall finish. It feels robust, refined, and built to last while remaining incredibly lightweight and easy to carry. Its portability makes it the perfect companion for touring, rehearsals, recording sessions, and daily practice.

What makes the Travelite truly unique is its dual-surface design. Having two distinct playing surfaces in a single pad is far more than a convenience; it is an incredibly intelligent concept. One side is perfect for warm-ups, technical exercises, and developing control, while the other offers a different response that naturally complements a complete daily practice routine. It allows me to adapt my practice to my needs without carrying multiple pads.

There is another aspect that deserves special recognition. In my experience, the Travelite is the only practice pad currently available that is genuinely suited to a gradual return to playing after wrist tendinitis or wrist surgery. The progressive feel of its two surfaces makes it possible to rebuild strength, coordination, and confidence without unnecessarily overloading the joints. This is an invaluable feature for professional musicians recovering from injury.

The Travelite has become an essential part of both my everyday practice and my pre-concert or pre-recording warm-up routine. It combines outstanding craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and real-world functionality in a way that very few products do.

The build quality is superb. The materials used are some of the best I’ve seen. The feel not exaggerated or unrealistic. And I absolutely love the different surfaces so I can isolate what each hand is doing depending on the pattern or rudiment. Every drummer should have this pad in their collection.

Awesome practice pad!

these are fire. the tones on them, especially the mid and low tom sound fantastic, and the feel of the skin is very similar to playing an acoustic kit. i bought these to **** onto 8mm cymbal arms and they work perfectly. much better than the tama practice kit because you can put the toms wherever you want - this is really important if you care about drum ergonomics. my only complaint is that i wish the snare pad was actually a little bit louder. i am using the tom pads, but for the snare i decided to stick with my evans realfeel pad. this is because the snare pad is so quiet that the balance between my kick pad, zildjian L80s and snare is off. besides that, perfect practice kit. thank you prologix

I already have the red pad, which I really enjoy to develop my sticking, but I love my new 8” green pad. It feels very realistic and the rebound is terrific.

I have the black pad (great for warming up), the green pad (hardest surface/most rebound) and this one which I’m using mostly at the moment. Black one is a bit intense for long workouts, but this one feels great! Just flip any of these pads over and place a head on top to practice brush playing.

I thought I would give an actual review of this pad, seeing how there are practically no reviews over this product.

Overall - Great PORTABLE Practice Pad.

It has a decent sound on the thicker side and a great articulate sound on the thinner side. Almost comparable to that of the Evans Realfeel double sided pad.

This is a great pad to have on the fly in many situations such as: on the bus, at rehearsal and want to get a quick hands warmup before block starts, at the airport waiting for your flight (or arrive early) for WGI or DCI auditions, or even just general practice. If you’re sitting, it sits on your knees nicely and doesn’t slide around like a standard pad would (and not as awkward to sit with). It also fits really nice into a backpack and doesn’t feel awkward like having a circular pad in your backpack.

The pad doesn’t have as great of rebound as you’d expect (which is kind of the main idea of prologix pads) where you have to put a little more force into the stick to get a full rebound.

If you’re looking to play on a pad that may potentially build your chops (enhance your chops stamina) then this may be the pad for you. If you need a “cheap whatever” pad, then this one might not be for you, there are for sure cheaper options.

It is a tad on the pricey side which initially deterred me (also considering how small the product is), but upon arrival, I was impressed with the quality of the product. The rubber is high quality and the wooden body is well sanded and very smooth. The handle is kinda awesome too, very unique design in my opinion.

Final Takeaways:
If you have a bigger budget, this is a pretty nice pad.
If you like the extra resistance in the pad, go for it.
If you need a very portable pad for whatever reason in any situation, this is a pretty good option.
Excellent product if you’re a snare drummer, decent product if you’re a quad/bass drummer. (It actually fits perfectly on top of a snare drum!)
